The Laskin Spray aerosol generator can produce multiple diameter oil aerosol particles in sub-microns, with concentrations ranging from 10 to 100 μg/L, at flow rates between 50 and 8,100 cubic feet per minute (pressure at 20 psi). Aerosol generators and photometers are used for integrity testing or leak finding tests in efficient air filtration systems. Filter manufacturers use this device to scan ULPA and HEPA (Ultra-High Efficiency, High efficiency) filters to validate their products. The filter demonstrator uses this device to verify that the filter has not been damaged in transit and that it has been installed correctly and without any leaks. In combination with the right suspended particle generator and photometer, filter deficiencies such as pinholes, thin spots, gasket leaks, structural leaks or sealing problems can be quickly and quantitatively detected and corrected to protect products and personnel.
The suspended particle generator has six nozzles and is diluted into 810 cubic feet of air per minute at 20PSI, a gas concentration of about 100 micrograms per liter. Three valves allow the instrument to operate between 1-6 nozzles, providing a wide range of airborne particle concentrations.
